Headquarter of Central Zone was established at Kolkata on 23rd July, 2010. The Zone has 8 Sectors, 24 Ranges, 18 Group Centres, 93 adm Battalions & 85 ops Battalions, 8 Composite Hospitals, 2 CWS, 1 AWS, 2 CTCs, 3 RTCs, 1 CIAT.

Brave and dedicated men and officers of CRPF have worked tirelessly in remotest and inhospitable terrains and have achieved major successes in containing the threat posed by anti national elements and innumerable times have made the supreme sacrifices.

CRPF is also providing security to three extremely sensitive shrines of India i.e. Krishna Janam bhoomi-Shahi Idgah Masjid Complex at Mathura, Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid Complex at Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwnath Temple-Gyanvapi Mosque at Varanasi.
